Annual Function at Siddhantam Heritage School, A fun packed treat!

This year’s annual function, the first Annual Function at Siddhantam Heritage School turned into a major event. The event beautifully showcased the spirit of learning, the strength of values, and the joy of creativity. The event was also featured in the media for its grand success — read more about it here. The theme centred on The Ganges: An Inspiration. That idea ran right through each performance and act. It brought to mind the river’s purity, its resilience, and the generous spirit it shows.

Things kicked off nicely with the lighting of that ceremonial lamp. The hosts gave a warm welcome to the chief guest, Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh, PVSM, VSM Retired. They also greeted the chairperson, Principal Ma’am, all the parents, and every well-wisher there. Excitement filled the auditorium. Students were all set to show off months of hard work from rehearsals.

In her opening speech, the speaker talked about the school’s founding vision. A group of IIT and IIM alumni wanted to build an institution focused on academic excellence, stressing on emotional and moral growth. Their vision gave birth to Siddhantam Heritage School. The school aims to nurture confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens. That message tied right into the evening’s theme.

Principal Ma’am moved the crowd with her speech. She highlighted the necessity of being responsible citizens who look after the environment. Students should be role models. They should conserve, respect, and protect nature as the Ganga did for people over centuries, sacrificing unstintingly. The function went on to a sequence of captivating performances. These recounted the Ganga’s path from its divine source to its sullied state now. There was also a vast craving for its resurgence.

  • Nadi was the opening piece on stage. It featured Ganga in her original form. She emerged serene, formidable, and self-sacrificing. She was portrayed in graceful dance and music as the never-ending giving mother.
  • Following that was Boond Boond. That product highlighted the fact that every drop means so much. Foot tapping and sincere faces drove the message home. Little things, like conserving water, planting trees, or creating awareness, can start real change.
  • Bhagirathi gave the tale of King Bhagirath’s perseverance on stage. It portrayed his perseverance towards introducing the sacred river to the planet. The young actors gave his journey the best presentation. It reminded us that belief and effort conquer any challenge.
  • Ganga Behti Ho Kyun shifted to something more emotional. It watched how people have taken advantage of the rivers and influenced nature. Strong lines of dialogue coupled with sentimental music. The audience remained speechless, profoundly affected by the performance.
  • Paapnashini Ganga, at the end, gave the atmosphere a sense of religiosity. The musical number glorified Ganga Maaiya as a divine force. She symbolises purity and forgiveness.
  • The session ended with the Pani Anthem. That was a compelling call to action to save water. Students were carrying placards with slogans like Every Drop Counts and Save Water Save Life. The anthem touched the hearts of the audience. It cut through the message that anyone could make a difference. All participated in a combined pledge at the end. They promised to respect water, protect it, and save each drop. The audience cheered with heartfelt pride.

Parents were themselves heartily touched to witness the talent and confidence of their own children blossom on stage. They smiled and cheered, which spoke volumes about the event becoming a communal celebration of the entire school community. Everyone present in the audience was thankful for the students’ hard work and how they expressed such a deep message filled with so much emotion.

The vote of thanks acknowledged the teachers, staff, students, and parents. Their efforts made the occasion a success. The evening made everyone reflective and inspired. They gathered under one clear thought- Jal hai to kal hai. Where there is water, there is tomorrow. The school thanks each student, teacher, parent, and staff member who contributed to making this occasion a huge hit. Siddhantam Heritage School eagerly awaits many more such events.
